Public Health Oxfordshire County Council invites Oxfordshire-based community pharmacies to sign up for the Take-home Naloxone Service. With potent synthetic opioids, like nitazenes, appearing more frequently in local drug supplies, it's crucial to expand access to take-home naloxone. Evidence shows that naloxone can effectively reverse the effects of these potent synthetic opioids, making it essential for those at risk but not in contact with treatment. Full details of this service are available in the attached service specification. For any questions or to sign up, please contact Ify Enemuo at Ify.Enemuo@Oxfordshire.gov.uk or call 07554 103332. |
The LPC recently secured a 50% increase in remuneration of the EHC Service across East Berkshire (Pharmacies within Bracknell, Slough and RBWM). Requests for Pharmacies to take part in this very important service were recently sent out, but responses have been low. We realise how busy how you all are that this time of year, but would appreciate a high level of participation from those Community Pharmacies in East Berkshire. See here for service specification and PGDs. |

NHS England, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) are considering centralising adult flu vaccine procurement and supply. This change would mean that flu vaccines for the NHS programme would be centrally purchased by UKHSA and provided free to pharmacies and GP practices. Pharmacy owners would still need to buy vaccines for non-NHS services. A survey for pharmacy owners is open until 17th December 2024. Participation is voluntary, and not all questions must be answered. |
All pharmacies must complete this mandatory survey by 11th December 2024. Pharmacies should have received an email from NHSBSA to complete the survey. If not, check with your head office if you're part of a multiple pharmacy group. |
This training is available to all health professionals and front-line roles in Oxfordshire and will be delivered via MS Teams, by expert trainer Dr. James Morris. Secure your spot by booking through Eventbrite using the links provided for each date. See attached flyer for further details.
