The survey is now open and mandatory for all pharmacy owners, deadline for completion is 11th December 2024. This year's survey focuses on staff numbers, full-time equivalents (FTE), and vacancies across ten staff categories. A new question has been added which addresses unregistered pharmacy technicians. Pharmacies should have received an email from NHSBSA to complete the survey. If not, and you are a part of a multiple pharmacy group please check with your head office. Pharmacy owners are reminded that they have to provide a minimum of 20 consultations that pass the gateway point by 31st October 2024 to be eligible for the £1,000 monthly payment. For more information visit the CPE website. |
CPE are asking pharmacy owners to share their views and concerns before their next Committee meeting in November to help support their work to highlight the challenges pharmacy owners are facing. The ten-minute survey, is open to Independent and non-CCA multiples only until Monday 4th November 2024. |

The report from CPE'S 2024 Pharmacy Pressures Survey is based on the views of the owners and team members from pharmacies across England. It shows that community pharmacies are facing severe challenges due to staffing shortages, underfunding, and escalating workload pressures, leading to stress, burnout, and reduced patient care. Overall, the Staffing and Morale Report highlights the urgent need for support and solutions to address these critical issues. |
The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care has launched a national conversation on the NHS, inviting patients, the public, and NHS workers to share their ideas via the change.nhs.uk portal. Organisations in health and social care can also submit formal documents. Community Pharmacy England has attended stakeholder briefings and met with the NHS 10-year plan team. They anticipate submitting evidence to various working groups and will issue advice to LPCs and pharmacy owners on engaging with the NHS plan. |

Selected pharmacies will have been notified by NHS Business Services Authority via email, to complete the full CPAF Questionnaire 2024/25 by 31st October 2024, please note completion is a mandatory requirement and is available on Manage Your Service (MYS) portal. |
BOB Minor Ailment Scheme targets low-income patients and their dependents, providing a concise list of OTC medicines in the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire West (BOB) ICB area It offers payment in addition to the referral fee or can be used for eligible walk-in patients. See here for further information and service specification. Pharmacies in the BOB ICB area can sign up to register. |
Community pharmacy owners are invited to share data for a fiscal review. Frontier Economics and IQVIA are analysing the full cost of NHS pharmacy services for NHS England to assess funding sustainability. The survey will take about 15-20 minutes and all data will be anonymized and kept confidential. |
The next cohort for the CPPE Newly Qualified Pharmacists Programme begins on 4th November.
