Providers who wish to deliver the COVID-19 Vaccination Service from their healthcare premises from 1 April 2025 are invited to submit a response through the NHSBSA webpage. Please note that community pharmacies with existing contracts do not need to re-apply as these extend to 31 March 2026. Any provider who wishes to participate must read the guidance and contractual agreements available on the NHS England website. Responses are due by 11.59pm on 19 November 2024. Click here. |
Community Pharmacy England (CPE) will be hosting two webinars to discuss the Government’s NHS 10-year plan. The webinars will provide detail on how the plan is being developed, outline opportunities for pharmacy owners to have their say, and how CPE is responding on behalf of the sector. World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW), runs from 18th to 24th November, and is led by the World Health Organization. The aim is to raise awareness of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and promote best practices among the public, healthcare workers, and policymakers to prevent the spread of drug-resistant infections. A toolkit has been provided with quick and ready-to-use resources to support local World AMR Awareness Week campaigns. |
Specialist Pharmacy Service (SPS) has launched a podcast series addressing issues around the Pharmacy First service. The series features pharmacy colleagues and expert clinical speakers discussing the seven clinical conditions. Resource links are also available on the SPS Pharmacy First podcast webpage. The first five episodes, cover: sinusitis, sore throat, otitis media, UTI, providing the service to children. Tune in to the SPS Pharmacy First podcast series!

NHS England has launched the latest ‘Act FAST’ campaign to increase awareness of the signs of a stroke and encourage people to dial 999 at the first sign. There is a toolkit providing all the information and resources you need to encourage your audiences to Act FAST on signs of a stroke, including social media videos, posters and leaflets.

Community pharmacy owners are invited to share data for a fiscal review. Frontier Economics and IQVIA are analysing the full cost of NHS pharmacy services for NHS England to assess funding sustainability. The survey will take about 15-20 minutes and all data will be anonymized and kept confidential. Please complete by Monday, 11th November 2024. |
Change Grow Live (CGL) is launching a new pharmacy service in Reading to support substance misuse treatment. The event will cover the new holistic wellbeing and safety-focused service, its components, development, pilot, and evaluation. It will also discuss the new process for recording activity and making claims on PharmOutcomes, along with improved pharmacy remuneration. The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) are hosting webinars on prescription processing and reimbursement. These online sessions cover how NHSBSA handles submissions, common errors, and tips on endorsing prescriptions. Pharmacy teams can benefit by learning new practices to prevent payment errors and asking questions during the webinars.
