There is a significant number of contractors across the Thames Valley region who have not completed the Annual Complaints Report. All community pharmacies are reminded that non‑compliance with contractual requirements may result in a breach notice being issued by NHS England. For guidance on what is required and how to submit your report, please visit the CPE website.
From 1 September 2026 Community pharmacies must use Record a Vaccination (RAVS) for all NHS vaccinations. Sign‑up is open now, with bulk onboarding for chains, and payments for flu and COVID‑19 will flow automatically via MYS when recorded in RAVS. Reporting tools are available in the system, and RAVS cannot be used for private vaccinations. See here for full information.
CPE has agreed an extension of the pilot flu vaccination service for children aged 2–3, with an increased fee, and an expansion to include clinically at‑risk children aged 2 to under 18. The service remains an Advanced service and will start 1 October 2026 for 2–3‑year‑olds and clinically at‑risk children, with catch‑up vaccinations beginning 1 December 2026. Full details are available on the CPE website.
The NMS monthly consultation cap will now be based on 0.9% of monthly prescriptions instead of 1%. This change shouldn’t affect most pharmacies, but owners should still review the updated caps so they know the maximum number of NMS intervention and follow‑up consultations they can be paid for each month.
A pattern of fraud has been identified involving the misuse of prescribing systems and paper FP10 prescriptions to obtain high-value weight loss medications, including Mounjaro (tirzepatide) and similar drugs. See here for more information.
The CPPE Asthma for Pharmacy Quality Scheme 2026/27 e‑learning is now live and forms part of the Medicines optimisation and patient safety domain of the 2026/27 PQS. Pharmacists must complete this e‑learning and the Asthma e‑assessment by 31 March 2027, see here for full guidance.

CPE is coming to the South East this July to meet directly with pharmacy owners and their representatives as part of our annual series of regional evening roadshow events. Your local session takes place on Thursday 9th July in Farnborough – bringing senior CPE figures together with local pharmacies to talk honestly about funding, pressures on the sector, and what needs to happen next. We hope the series of events will explain the CPCF negotiations, give attendees the chance to ask questions and challenge decisions, gathering real-world insight to help shape preparations for future negotiations. It’s a valuable opportunity to share local experiences, influence future priorities, and connect with colleagues from across the region. Register for your local event.
