Frimley ICB is launching a pilot to enhance hearing care accessibility and reduce pressure on secondary services. Using the TympaHealth Platform, trained pharmacy teams in East Berkshire will be able to offer hearing screening, digital otoscopy, and safe earwax removal—bringing high-quality ear care directly into the community. This initiative empowers pharmacies to play a greater role in hearing health while streamlining NHS resources. Interested pharmacies must be available for training on 24–25 November 2025 at Stoke Place, Buckinghamshire. NHS New Medicine Service and NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service: updated documents published From 29 October, depression is now included in the NHS New Medicine Service. Updated service specification details are on the NHS England website to help pharmacy teams prepare. The current version remains on the NHSBSA site until the new service starts. Contractors using IT systems for clinical records should check with their supplier about necessary updates. The NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service updated service specification and PGD has been published on NHS England’s website to support teams as they prepare for the service to expand to include oral emergency contraception. |

| Solutions 4 Health invites Oxfordshire pharmacies to express interest in delivering the Level 2 Smoking Cessation Service for Smokefree Oxon. Advisors must complete NCSCT training and attend a face-to-face Level 2 session provided by Smokefree Oxon. For payment details and training requirements, please refer to the SLA. To register interest by 19th November 2025, email smokefreeoxon.s4h@nhs.net with staff numbers, roles, availability (including weekends and bank holidays), and experience with Level 2 cessation and PharmOutcomes. |
Frimley ICB is offering full funding for a limited number of pharmacists to complete the Certificate in Advanced History Taking and Clinical Assessment. This initiative is to support the role of pharmacists in Primary Care, equip them with vital skills in patient assessment, clinical decision-making and prescribing - it aligns with services like the NHS Pharmacy First scheme. A new opinion poll is asking about concerns for your pharmacy business going into this winter and the impact C-19 vaccination eligibility confusion has had.
