As a result of successful discussions held with the Department of Health and Social Care and NHSE it has been decided that the Pharmacy First threshold for October will not be increased and will remain at 20 consultations for the month of October. See here for more information. |
The full CPAF survey monitoring pharmacy contractors’ compliance in 2023/24 is open until midnight on 31st October 2024. Contractors will be contacted directly by the NHS Business Services Authority if their pharmacy has been selected. Please note completion is a mandatory requirement for all selected contractors and the results will determine which pharmacies may be visited. Users of the NHSBSA’s Manage Your Service (MYS) portal will be able to complete the survey via their MYS login. |
Pharmacy owners have until 30th October 2024 to check if there is a backlog of notification emails within PharmOutcomes for clinical services provided by the pharmacy - please complete this MS form. This applies even if you do not have any post event messages (PEMs) to action. NHS England requests that all pharmacy owners complete this before the new extended deadline 30th October 2024. The CPTA programme, launched by NHSE, will be providing a training contribution of £15,053 per trainee, per year for two years to support Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians to be employed and complete their full 24-month apprenticeship. Pencycle is a recyling initiative for pre-filled Novo Nordisk pens used for diabetes and weigh management treatments. Pen users are able to return their used pens to be recycled into useful new products. See here for more information.

The 2023 Community Pharmacy Workforce Survey results have been published. The survey is set to be repeated later in the autumn and the findings will support NHS England and stakeholders in making recommendations for investments in education and training for the sector. Click here. |
Keele University, School of Medicine are working on a study to understand what role community pharmacy can play in supporting people with Long Covid. They are looking to recruit community pharmacy staff to participate in an interview. Interviews will be held online and last 30-45 minutes (evening and weekend times can be accommodated if required).
